Javert and Mal head out into the hall and meet Inara near the stairwell outside the M-block. They then meet up with Faust and move out.

The group decides to split up at the top of the stairs and return there in half an hour. However, before Javert and Faust can get any further, Nightshift comes to an end.

Javert awakens and is ushered to breakfast, where he meets Reinforce and chats with Mal and Kaylee. He catches up with Faust in the showers, where they agree to try to obtain the location of the pharmacy. Javert also realizes that the presence of large nasty things during Nightshift is decidedly against the LAWR and considers it his duty to escape and alert the local authorities.

Lunchtime proves rather interesting, as Javert is accosted by Luffy and finally finds out about Special Counseling and the curious powers some of the patients possess. Afterwards, in the Sun Room, he obtains a partially completed map of Landel's from Miku, sort-of-not-really meeting some other patients along the way. During dinner, Javert invites Mal to come along with himself and Faust that Nightshift.

He also learns how to use a toothbrush.

Javert finds all manner of cool toys in his room and heads through the hallways, finally stumbling upon an equally confused Faust VIII. The two chat for a bit about Landel's and eventually discover that neither of them appear to be in their respective times.

He and Faust head out of the M-block and up to the second floor. They manage to locate the Staff Research/Medical Reference Library. The books' contents confuse Javert; Faust reveals that the information within is slightly out of date where (or rather, when) he's from. After some time, they depart for another hall, which in turn leads to - you guessed it - yet another hallway, at which point Nightshift ends.
